Waterman Survival Extended

The Waterman Survival Extended course is for individuals seeking to improve fundamental skills, knowledge and safety practices to better their chances in breath-hold related emergency situations during in water activities such as surfing, paddle boarding, white water kayaking, rafting etc. This course combines the F.I.I. Level I Freediver course and the Waterman Survival course with an extra ocean day of training. This is the ultimate breath hold survival experience!

Level I Freediver

Level I is an introduction to the F.I.I. education system designed to teach students to master basic freediving techniques, including safety and problem management, breathing techniques and correct freediving methods for gradual depth progression. This three-day course provides students the knowledge and confidence to be able to freedive to depths up to 66 feet (20 meters). This introductory course is for beginners as well as experienced freedivers and spearfishermen who have never been formally trained.

Level II Freediver

The F.I.I. Level II Freediver course builds upon the foundation established during the Level I Freediver course by teaching students how to effectively use the physiology of the human body and deep water equalization to safely and comfortably reach depths of up to 132 feet (40 meters). This three-day intensive program introduces participants to specialized freediving techniques through a series of closely supervised open ocean training, pool and academic sessions. This class is a must for all freedivers and spearfishermen wishing to expand their knowledge and advance their comfort level to deeper depths.

This specialized classroom and pool only course teaches students the training methods to be better prepared for unexpected breath-hold related emergencies. During these pool only activities participants will learn how to retrain their urge to breathe, increasing their CO2 tolerance and breath-hold abilities, while also mastering key specialized safety protocols to ensure effective victim recovery for breath-hold related incidents. This two-day course teaches specialized pool drills and scenarios to increase underwater comfort and potential on a breath in a confined water environment.

CANCELLATION POLICY

To reserve a confirmed spot in each course, students must register and make the minimum deposit payment to secure their space in that class. Final course payment is due 30 days prior to the start of each class. In cases where a student registers for a course within the 30 day period the final payment is due two weeks prior to course date. For any shorter registration time frame the full payment is due immediately.

All course payments are final, non-refundable and non-transferable. There are limited spots available in each class and making a deposit payment secures spot in the class. Courses sell out closer to the class dates so make sure to hold your spot by making deposit when plans are confirmed. In the event of possible last minute cancellations by students, we recommend travel insurance.

Weather at times may be a factor in offshore training. If that situation occurs during the days of the scheduled course, the instructor will ensure that only safe conditions are available for effective training. All training that can be conducted in a safe learning environment will continue. If safe conditions are not available, students have up to one year to make up the ocean training.
